I have laid aside the ripples for a while. They are coming along nicely, but there is something else to be done at present. Because I have Signed Up for something. Oh dear, the sign-up sheet is now hanging over my head, full of menace! It’s that time of year again, the time when plans are made for the Bosom Pals Christmas Fundraiser.
Bosom Pals, despite its utterly cringe-worthy name, is a fantastic support group for breastfeeding mums. I knew about its existence before having Snow White because they run the local group in my church. It also happens to be run by my lovely midwife, Jackie, so I’ve been going since Snow White was still a Very Big Bump. I never had any problems breastfeeding, but I know they would have looked after me if I did. For me it was just a nice place to meet other breastfeeding mums, but I bet there are plenty of ladies who would have given up in the early days if it wasn’t for their help and advice. We don’t go very frequently now, but I wanted to make something for the Christmas Fundraiser.
Last year I made felt Christmas tree ornaments, but didn’t attend in person due to my rather ponderous girth. This year I hope to do a fair few Taggie Giraffes, inspired by a post on Chasing Cheerios.

I have made one so far. It took 45 minutes. I have been planning it for months, but only just got around to starting – whoops! I think now I am happy with the pattern and can start a production line I will be quicker, but for the times when I can’t be doing with the sewing machine I will be crocheting.
Dishcloths.
Not very glamorous. But quick. And they won’t have a high price tag, so hopefully some will sell. Here’s the first:

Happy weekend!
